A Mother's Nightmare

As difficult as it is to understand, there comes a time in each mothers life that she realizes that she can no longer do anything to help her child. Her child is grown. Sometimes, this is a wonderful thing, the child has met the challenges and is ready to face the world.

In other situations, the child is no where near the place of adulthood, except by age. The children that are in this category are not yet matured as a young adult should be, and they are generally ill-prepared to take on the challenges of adulthood. As a parent, it is very difficult to sit back and watch your child as he or she takes on the world, yet does not have the understanding or self-restraint needed to effectively make the decisions and use good judgment needed. It is so hard not to interfere and try to control their decisions and choices. Especially when they are hurting themselves by making poor choices.

There comes a time, when as a parent, you have to let go and let your child be the adult they are regardless of their choices. There comes a time when you have to let go and accept that you no longer get to choose.

I am waiting for the day that I can accept this. This is one of the hardest lessons I believe I have had to learn. How to let go.

Metallic-Inked Clothing Vs. TSA Scanners: A Possible Way to Rebel?

As an American, I am outraged at the process that is required to travel in the United States. American's are being treated like terrorists in our own country, however, foreigners traveling into the United States do NOT have to undergo the same physical searches and molestations by the government that the Americans do. I find this insulting to think that the actual citizens of America are scrutinized more than citizens of other nations. I personally believe this is a very sad thing. As a citizen of the United States of America, I am saddened that the rights of the citizens are being violated. The 4th amendment of the Constitution clearly states that we should be free from these types of unreasonable searches.

I wanted to share an article I found this morning with you, it is one way for Americans to respond to the TSA agents without being rude. While this may be one way of responding, I do not know how the TSA agents will respond to such clothing items being worn and if this will require additional molestation and exploratory searches (opps, excuse me pat down searches) to be performed. I am simply sharing something I found online that I found to be interesting. If you choose to purchase and use these items at the airport, please understand I do not accept any responsibility for what the US government or the TSA agents will do to retaliate against you.
